Cascade Fire Community Fund

Scholarship Program

The Cascade Fire Community Fund offers scholarship support to community members who are currently serving as first responders -either paid or volunteer- as well as those pursuing education or training to begin their career as a first responder. This includes local residents such as graduating high school students, current college students, and adults seeking to begin or advance a career in firefighting, emergency medical services, rescue or law enforcement.  Scholarships may be awarded in amounts up to $3,000

Who may apply?

  • Graduating seniors from local (Valley County) high schools, home school students and local residents.

  • Valley County Community members currently employed or volunteering as a first responder.

  • Valley County Community members wishing to begin or advance a career as a first responder.

Eligibility Requirements

  • High school students must have a grade point average of 2.8 or better on a 4.0 scale.

  • Applicants must be starting or continue their education in the fire service, emergency medical service, or law enforcement.

Application Materials​

  • A brief resume outlining your community involvement, accomplishments and relevant experience.

  • A list of awards or recognitions during high school or during in your current career.

  • A letter describing your educational and career plans, to include:

    • The college, university, or training program you are attending or plan to attend.

    • Your long-term career goals.

​Scholarship Award & Distribution

Scholarship funds will be disbursed after the successful completion of the first semester or official grading period of a college, vocational program, or approved first responder training course.

Law enforcement respond to a range of calls anywhere from vehicle accidents to domestic situations.
